House Resolution 53
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE TERRY BROWN FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, Representative Brown of Columbus, Mississippi, is currently serving his fourth term as a member of the House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from New Hope High School, Representative Brown attended East Mississippi Junior College, Delta State University and Mississippi State University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Brown, a native of Lowndes County, has ably and effectively served his constituents of House District 40 with pride and distinction for 12 years; and
WHEREAS, Representative Brown, Chairman of the Public Buildings, Grounds and Lands Committee, serves as a member of the Conservation and Water Resources, Public Health and Welfare, Fees and Salaries of Public Officers and the Appropriations Committees; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his responsibilities with the House, Representative Brown serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Columbus/Lowndes Economic Development Authority (CLEDA), as a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and as a member of the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC); and
WHEREAS, Representative Brown has been lovingly supported in all his political endeavors by his wife, the former Andra Dobbel, and their three sons: Cody, Chas and Wayne; and
WHEREAS, Representative Brown has brought much credit to himself and the House of Representatives by his dedication, hard work, tireless efforts and steadfast commitment to doing those things he believed were in the best interests of the people he represents; and
WHEREAS, Representative Brown is a respected and well-liked member of the House of Representatives, and his amiable manner and consideration for all those with whom he has worked will certainly be missed:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express our sincere appreciation to our colleague Representative Terry Brown for his distinguished service as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, and extend our best wishes for his continued success in all future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Terry Brown and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
